They returned to action after two weeks without a competitive fixture to due to international fixtures and recorded their 28th win in 28 league matches. The win over BM Guadalajara was based on an excellent performance from Icelandic star Sigurdsson who ended the game as top scorer with 11 goals. Barça fell behind to the visitors in the early stages but once they were ahead, Xavi Pascual's side never again relinquished their advantage.
Referees from Latvia for Finbal four final
The European Handball Federation has nominated the referees and delegates for the 2015 VELUX EHF FINAL4, played in Cologne. Pairs from Latvia, Macedonia, Sweden and Romania will referee the games when Europe's best four teams fight for the most coveted trophy in club handball.
Defending champions France book the ticket to Poland 2016
France - Macedonia 35:24 (17:10)
Four matches, four victories – and defending champions France had bagged the qualification for the EHF EURO 2016. Contrary to the first encounter in Skopje on Wednesday (27:25), the Macedonians were without a chance in Toulouse. The French side nearly missed no shot in the first half to virtually decide the one-sided encounter already at the half-time buzzer. The EHF EURO, World and Olympic champions fired on all cylinders, thus destroying the Macedonian hopes for a potential surprise early and with verve.
France win and go top of the table
Macedonia - France 25:27 (13:15)
France have added another victory to their long list with the defeat of Macedonia in Skopje, taking two points that put them in a strong position to book their ticket to Poland when they face Macedonia again on Sunday. Macedonia knew they would have to be better than their best to beat France - and their performance on Wednesday was not enough to win against the current world, Olympic and European champions, but they pushed the French until the final whistle. Macedonia took a while to find their shooting arms, missing several shots early on while France created a narrow lead.
Already champs, FC Barcelona win at Gijón

The FC Barcelona handball team won their 58th consecutive league game in Gijón, giving Xavi Pascual's team a 34:25 victory in a game that did not feature top players Víctor Tomás, Karabatic or Sigurdsson. Aitor Ariño had a game-high seven goals in a clash that Barça dominated from start to finish. Barça were up 11:7 after 15 minutes and then, after Gijón came to within two goals, extended the lead to 18:14 at the half. A solid defensive effort after the break allowed the Catalans to run it 23:15, although a fine effort by Gijón goalkeeper Pejcinovic kept it from getting out of hand. With Barça up ten at 27:17 after 43 minutes, Xavi Pascual found minutes for youngsters Beto Miralles and Víctor Sáez before wrapping up their 58th straight.
Barcelona remains unbeaten
26 matches are played in the Spanish league and champion FC Barcelona is still unbeaten. The big favorite beat Villa de Aranda by 46:30 (23:13) in front of 1.056 spectators. With this victory Barcelona gained the points number 49 and 50 and already in the next match the team might have scored the 1.000 goal of the season, which would mean a goal average of almost 40 goals per match. Barcelona dominated the match from the beginning as Jesper Noddesbo and Siarhei Rutenka already netted in the first ninety seconds.
FC Barcelona draw Kielce in VELUX EHF Champions League semis
The Final Four in Cologne starts on May 30, with Kiel and Veszprém appearing in the other game.The Barça handball team know who they'll meet in the semi-finals of the Champions League on May 30. It's Polish outfit Kielce, who knocked out Vardar of Macedonia, while THW Kiel of Germany and Veszprém of Hungary will be the other sides battling for a place in the final the following day. Kielce are into the F4 for the second time under Talant Duixebàev, who formerly coached Ciudad Real and Atlético Madrid In Spain.
FC Barcelona ease into final four with record win

If anyone thought that Barcelona's 31:11 win away against Aalborg Handball in the Last 16 was going to be the Spanish top team's biggest win in the VELUX EHF Champions League this season, they were proved wrong on Saturday evening. Barcelona presented absolutely no gifts for their former star player Veselin Vujovic who returned to the Palau Blaugrana as coach for Zagreb; the Spanish side crushed their opponents by no less than 22 goals.
Copa del Rey Final four will be organized in Gijon
The sports palace of Gijon, the "Palacio de los Deportes de la Guía, will host the Final 4 for the Copa del Rey this year, as announced by the league federation. The cup's final round is scheduled for June 6-7. FC Barcelona, local rival BM Granollers as well as CBM Puente Genil and AB Jovellanos Gijon have qualified. Granollers and Cordoba had also applied for hosting the tournament, yet the executive committee decided in the Asturians' favor. However, it did stress the quality of the other applications. The arena has a capacity of 5,500 seats and was built in 1992.
Victory and the title!
Barça's handball team are now mathematically Asobal League Champions after a convincing 45:19 away win at Zamora. The blaugranes take the title for the fifth successive season under Xavi Pascual, this team with a perfect record of 25 wins from 25 matches. In the decisive win Gonzalo Pérez de Vargas excelled in goal and Jesper Noddesbo with 10 goals was top scorer for Barça. Pascual's team maintained the intensity that they showed in the Champions League against Zagreb.
