Macedonians open with clear victory over Tunisia

Macedonia opened their World Championship campaign with a clear and relatively easy 33:25 win over Tunisia, as the two teams met in Group B late Friday afternoon at the Lusail Multipurpose Hall. Only for short parts of the match the North Africans were able to put their opponents under a bit of pressure. Aften a fairly equal start, Macedonia took off to a 9:4 lead and a bit later 11:5. Even though Kiril Lazarov missed a penalty shot along the way, the Macedonians remained to be dominant in the game, where four two minute suspensions within the first 20 minutes, including two for key defence player Wissem Hmam, did not make things easier for the Tunisians.

World Championship debutants Iran showed an outstanding performance against Bosnia-Herzegovina, but finally left the arena empty-handed. Their result should be a warning signal for the Macedonians, who hope to make a huge step towards the eighth finals by adding another two-pointer on their tally.

French national team are ready for Qatar 2015. The Claude Onesta men crushed two rivals in the classy style at the preparation tournament in Nantes. In the final, Karabatić and Co. were clearly better in encounter with Macedonia 30:20. Day before, visits of the current Olympic and European champions payed Argentina 33:19.
Four trophies so far this season for FC Barcelona
In 2014/15 the Barça handball team have already won two Super Cups, the Asobal Cup and the World Club Cup. The FC Barcelona handball team march on. This season they have already claimed four trophies, the latest addition being the Asobal Cup which they claimed in León against Fraikin BM Granollers. That win was their fourth consecutive title in the competition which they have won now on 10 separate occasions. Xavi Pascual's side began the season in excellent fashion, winning the Catalan Super Cup against Granollers and then beating the same opponents to claim their 17th Spanish Super Cup.
FC Barcelona win Asobal Cup
FC Barcelona - Fraikin BM Granollers 37:26 (17:13)
The Barça handball team won yet another title on Sunday afternoon, their fourth of the season, after beating Fraikin BM Granollers once again, this time by a score of 37:26. This title comes after the team have already hoisted the Super Cups of Catalunya and Spain, as well as the Clubs World Cup. After an even first half of play, Barça went on a tear midway through the second half to pave the way to victory. The goalkeepers were the stars early on in this one, which kept the game close.

FC Barcelona maintained their unbeaten record in the Liga ASOBAL. They have maintained their unbeaten record in the Liga ASOBAL in their final game before the winter break and at one of the traditionally most difficult venues in the competition. It all got off to a lively start with the teams tied on 8:8 after 10 minutes, but superior defending by Barça soon started building up a gap that had become four goals by half-time (18:22).

Xavi Pascual's side take the Catalan derby in commanding fashion in the Asobal League with Rutenka top scorer with 10 goals. FC Barcelona bounced back following their first defeat of the season against Orlen Wisla Plock to dispatch Fraikin BM Granollers at home in the Palau Blaugrana. Barça were in control right from the start and an excellent performance from former Granollers keeper Gonzalo Pérez de Vargas in goal kept the blaugranes defence extremely tight.

Barça were on the back pedal all game and were powerless against a Wisla side that was simply better on the day.
The handball team has lost for the first time this season at Orlen Wisla Plock in today's Champions League game. Wisla led all the way, going four goals up by the end of the first quarter of an hour, leaving Barça in the unfamiliar situation of just scoring six goals in 15 minutes of opening play.
